Frequently asked questions
Bocce is typically played on a rectangular court with a smooth surface. The game involves two teams, each aiming to roll their bocce balls closest to the pallino to score points. Players take turns throwing the balls, strategically positioning them to outscore the opposing team. The team with the closest balls to the pallino scores a point for each closest ball.

Absolutely! The HHP Bocce Club welcomes players of all skill levels, including beginners. Our club is a supportive and inclusive community where newcomers can learn and improve their bocce skills through clinics, practice, guidance, and friendly competitions. Note that this is an HHP Club and membership is restricted to HHP residents only.
League play is for teams of 2 or 3 people. Singles can request a teammate by completing the Need a Teammate form found under the Forms tab. Singles are then connected to discuss availability and the potential to become a team.
Singles may also sign up as a sub by completing the Sub List form also found under the Forms tab. You may be contacted by any team that needs a sub. A sub does not owe the seasonal club dues.
Club dues are $10/person for each spring and fall season. Dues are required only for a season in which you participate to accommodate part year residents.
A separate annual membership with the Spring Lake Racquet Club is required. A bocce only membership is just $35 per calendar year and included with tennis memberships.

If only one team member is available for a match, then a sub may be used to play the game. A sub list will be made available on this website. You can use any HHP resident as a sub, even if they are not on the sub list and must not be a member of a current team.
You may also request to reschedule the match with your opponent. Your opponent is not required to reschedule, however, rescheduling is strongly encouraged in our club as our league is meant to be fun. A forfeit will apply to any match not played.
Short answer is yes, but there are limitations. Teams returning from the previous season will have first choice to remain in their division. Each division is capped at eight teams, therefore open slots are limited in each division.
The registration form will ask you for your top three division choices. Our League Coordinator will try to honor all requests while balancing divisions and maximizing participation.
After signing up your team for the spring or fall season you can pay for your team electronically or by check. The bocce club currently does not accept payments on this site.
